Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American actor and singer is extremely famous. Sara Ramirez was brought up by her American mother and faced a lot racial taunts that led her to feel unwelcome. When she was in 9th grade she started to feel more comfortable after she was acknowledged by her teachers as a success for singing at a school's audition. This experience did not just help to boost her confidence, but also changed the direction she was heading in her life. When she was 22, she received her degree from at the Julliard School of New York. In 1993 she had her Broadway debut in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was called You've Got Mail. The greatest accomplishment of her career occurred with her portrayal of The Lady Of The Lake on Spamalot's initial Broadway production. She did not only get the Tony Award, but her performance was also highly praised by reviewers. The recognition grew even more for her appearance on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. As a well-known singer, she has also recorded songs and plays. She is an activist who is a tireless advocate for LGBT equality.
